Log in for the first time
Find your server's address, collect the root password once, and connect over SSH.
When your server is built, its page under Servers has a Connect card with everything you need: the address, the SSH line to paste, and the root password, which is waiting for you to collect.
Collect the password
- Open the server from Servers.
- In Connect, next to Password, press Show it once.
- Copy the username and password into a password manager before you close the box.
Connect
From a terminal on your own computer, paste the SSH line from the Connect card. It looks like this, with your server's address:
ssh root@203.0.113.10Paste the password when it asks. Nothing shows as you type, which is normal. If you added an SSH key when you ordered, you are let in without the password.
